The LemakAyam Chilli Padi Pasta is a delicious malay dish with an Italian touch

If you’re around Paya Lebar, and are looking for halal steamboat, a cosy café called “The Flame Café” is definitely a place to visit. Don’t let the word “café” fool you into thinking it’s just a place for coffee and sweets (although, they do offer great confectionaries too). This café has a menu fit for a full-fledged restaurant.

Visit Flame Cafe for their halal 4-tier Pagoda Steamboat

In its unassuming name, The Flame Café rocks a halal 4-Tier Pagoda Steamboat (Their pricing is varied, so you can check out their rates here.). With the pagoda steamboat, you can enjoy both suki-yaki styled steamboat and BBQ at the same time. The base tier gives you a choice of two soup bases, depending on the package you’ve selected; you get to choose between chicken, mala, tom yum, tomato, or herbal tonic. The second tier is an aluminium foil-covered BBQ that allows you to grill various marinated meats, seafood, and vegetables.

The third tier is the dip. The Flame Café offers two dips: either cheese, or Salted Egg Sauce. Both dips are great choices to enhance the flavour of the food you’re cooking. Finally, the top tier is a steamer. This small steamer is great for dumplings, buns, and smaller seafood items like shrimp.

All-in-all, the 4-tier Pagoda Steamboat is a joy to have for both a dinner or lunch appointment.

Apart from the pagoda steamboat, the Flame Café also has an ala carte western food menu. Their menu is varied with pastas, burgers, various mains, and deserts and is western food with an Asian twist.

We highly recommend the LemakAyam Chilli Padi Pasta (S$11.90). This pasta is cooked in spicy coconut gravy and is topped with grilled chicken thigh. Another highly recommended ala carte dish is the Rendang Beef Burger (S$12.90). This burger holds a beef patty that’s coated in home-made rending sauce. It’s a must-try!

If you’re walking in just for tea, we would recommend the Green Tea Mousse Cake

If you’re walking in just for tea, there are a number of deserts you can order, namely the Oreo Cheesecake (S$7.90) or the Green Tea Mousse Cake (S$8.90). The Green Tea Mousse Cake is layered with yummy yoghurt, Oreos, and green tea. It’s the perfect confectionary for teabreak.

You can find Flame Café at 72 Upper PayaLebar Road, level 1, S(534818), beside Tai Sing MRT, exit A.
